Dr. Munr Kazmir was born in Pakistan in 1957. He graduated from the University of Punjab where he received his M.B.B.S./M.D. He then went on to complete a one-year internship at the Mayo Hospital in Lahore, as well as a two-year residency at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. In 1984, Dr. Kazmir arrived in the United States where he successfully completed his Internal Medicine internship at the White Plains Hospital/Montefiore Medical Center in 1986. He went on to complete additional medical studies in 1988 at Methodist Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During his externship in Houston, Dr. Kazmir was recognized for being the lead fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Fund at the Methodist Hospital of Houston. In 1989 after completing his externship, Dr. Kazmir’s first American entrepreneurial and philanthropic initiatives lead him to develop a health care employment agency, which provides medical staffing to hospitals in the metropolitan area and provides free medical services to needy residents within the area. He continues his quest to ensure that indigents, homeless, HIV patients, and neglected children receive the appropriate medical care they deserve. 

Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Kazmir has founded the American International School System (AISS)-the most modern state-of-the-art school in the history of Pakistan. AISS brings top-quality American based education to the underprivileged children in neglected regions. Today, he serves on a number of different boards including: the Board of Governors of the Republican Jewish Coalition, American Jewish Congress, Chabad House, Anti-Defamation League (ADL), etc... He was also a former member of: the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPC), the Republican Leadership Council, GOPAC, Republican Regents, Board of Trustees of Liberty Health Systems and former Chairman of Liberty Health Systems Foundation, former Trustee of the Hackensack University Hospital Foundation, former Chairman of the Board of the Middle East Media Research Institution (MEMRI), and former Chairman of NATPAC (Metropolitan Area).  Today, Dr. Kazmir maintains cooperative, bipartisan relationships with many members of the United States Congress and is very active in promoting the concept of democratic government in third world countries and the Middle East. He remains committed to fostering and supporting women’s rights, as well as human rights causes throughout the world.

Accomplishments & Awards:

1990: Dr. Kazmir completed his PGY3 in the Department of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York.

1991: Dr. Kazmir founded Quality Home Care—a medical supply company currently serving hundreds of thousands of patients throughout the metropolitan area.

1993: Dr. Kazmir was one of the founders of the New Synagogue of Fort Lee where he still serves today as one of two Shomrim, the highest honor in the synagogue.

1995: Dr. Kazmir received first Humanitarian award from the State of New Jersey’s Child Protection Commission and Children’s Trust Fund for his fundraising efforts to combat juvenile diabetes.

1997: Dr. Kazmir also received the Gold Medal Award from Chabad House of Somerset, NJ which was previously granted to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

1997: The Prime Minister of Israel and the Mayor of Jerusalem presented Dr. Kazmir with the Theodore Hertzel Award in recognition for his exceptional humanitarian efforts.

It was also during this time that Dr. Kazmir supported a program that sends New Jersey school teachers and hard of hearing students to Auschwitz to study the Holocaust, as well as Rutgers University’s Center for the Study of Jewish Life.

June 9, 1998: Dr. Kazmir received an award for his commitment to Hashem and his humanity, which is an inspiration to us all by Chabad of Greater Somerset County at their 2nd Annual Founders Dinner.

1998: Dr. Kazmir founded Direct Meds, Inc. – a fully-registered and licensed pharmacy specializing in prescription home delivery throughout the United States.

1999: The Republican Jewish Coalition recognized Dr. Kazmir for his leadership and continuous support for Jewish causes.

May 13, 2000: Dr.Kazmir received the Englewood Board of Directors Award at the Annual Gala for his outstanding services to the healthcare field.

2000: Christine Todd Whitman, the appointed Governor of New Jersey during this time, recognized Dr. Kazmir for his exceptional philanthropic efforts.

June 19, 2000: Dr. Kazmir received the Bonei Yerushalayim Award from the Jewish Reclamation Project in NYC for being a doctor with a heart of gold and being committed to building a Jerusalem of gold.

June 20, 2000: Dr. Kazmir received a Certificate of Election by the State of NJ for being elected on August 2nd, as an Alternative Delegate at large to the Republican National Convention which took place in Philadelphia, PA on June 6th of that year.

2001: Dr. Kazmir was appointed to be on the Board of Trustees of the Rabbinical College of America.

January 1, 2001: ALEH—a nationally recognized network of residential facilities around Israel for children with severe physical and mental disabilities—awarded Dr. Kazmir the Distinguished Community Service Award.

May 3, 2001: Dr. Kazmir was honored at the Congressional Meeting of the House of Representatives by Congressman Steve Rothman of the 9th District of New Jersey for his continued benevolence and support.

May 6, 2001: Dr. Kazmir was presented with an Honorary Doctorate from the Rabbinical College of America. This same award has previously been awarded to three former US Presidents, several former US Secretaries of State, Governors, and prominent community leaders.

August 5, 2001: Dr. Kazmir was presented a special award from the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Secaucus, New Jersey.

September 2002: Keren-Or—an organization in Jerusalem devoted to the care and rehabilitation of multi-handicapped blind children—recognized Dr. Kazmir for his continuous support and awarded him the Maimonides Award.

2003: Dr. Kazmir was appointed to serve on the United States Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee.

November 17, 2003: Received acknowledgement from Liberty Health System for his extraordinary generosity in leading the campaign efforts for the new Jersey City Medical Center Campus, the regions state-of-the-art teaching hospital.

July 6, 2004: Dr. Kazmir received a Certificate of Election by the State of NJ for being elected on June 8th as an Alternative Delegate at large to the Republican National Convention which took place in New York on August 30th-September 2nd of that year.

2005: United States Secretary of Health and Human Services appointed Dr. Kazmir to serve a three-year term on the National Advisory Committee for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

During this year, he was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA).

He was also awarded a Humanitarian award from the Be’er Hagolah Institutes in Brooklyn, NY—an organization devoted to educating and supporting immigrant children.

2006: Dr. Kazmir was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by DEA Special Agent in Charge in New York, John Gilbride, for outstanding contributions in the field of drug and law enforcement.

May 4, 2006: Dr. Kazmir received an honorary award by Liberty Health System—one of the largest hospital systems in Hudson County, New Jersey.

Summer 2006-2013: Dr. Kazmir was appointed to the board of the National Federal Drug Enforcement Foundation (FDFA) and served on the executive committee.

November 2006: Dr. Kazmir received the Legacy Award from Hackensack University Hospital and Medical Center.

2006-2007 Dr. Kazmir was appointed to the selection committee for the White House Fellowship, New York Regional Panel.

2007: Founded the American International School System Foundation—501(c) (3) that provides scholarships to underprivileged children throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

2007: Dr. Kazmir was appointed to serve on the Survivor’s Benefit Corporate Committee of the Drug Enforcement Agency, New York region.

November 15, 2007: Dr. Kazmir was presented the Benefactor Award by George Washington University.

July 25, 2008: Dr. Kazmir received a Certificate of Election by the State of NJ for being elected on June 3rd as an Alternative Delegate at large to the Republican National Convention which took place in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 1st-September 4th of that year.

2009: Dr. Kazmir launched Easy Carry Medical Transportation—a company that provides transportation services to disabled citizens. This caused high-quality jobs to be created as well as expanded Easy Carry’s service line to include an ambulance service.

2009: Dr. Kazmir led a U.S. delegation to Pakistan and Jordan to promote early education and multinational partnership. He successfully united a politically polarized landscape behind a common committee to education. The governments of Pakistan, Jordan, and Egypt all expressed their enthusiasm for the American compassion that underlies AISS.

June 2010-2014: Dr. Kazmir was selected to become the Vice Chairman of the New Jersey Lottery Commission, where he served for 9 years as commissioner.

2010: Dr. Kazmir was selected to become a board member of the Non-Partisan Political Action Committee (NORPAC), whose primary purpose is to support candidates and sitting members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives who demonstrate a genuine commitment to the strength, security, and survival of Israel.

2010: Dr. Kazmir became a member of the board of Governors for the Republican Jewish Coalition in Washington, D.C.

May 2, 2011: Dr. Kazmir was recognized by the Bureau Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) field-division (NY/NJ) for his outstanding commitment to the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.), which promotes positive attitudes towards law enforcement amongst young adults.

May 7, 2011: Dr. Kazmir joined the ranks of six former Presidents and Nobel Prize winners by being awarded the Distinguished Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) for his outstanding citizenship, individual achievements and encouragements of cultural unity. The Ellis Island Medal of Honor is sanctioned by the U.S. Congress and entered into the Congressional Record.

June 27, 2011: Dr. Kazmir was appointed by Governor Chris Christie to serve a four-year term as a member of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority, which is the primary issuer of municipal bonds for New Jersey’s Health Care Organizations.

August 18, 2011: Dr. Kazmir was presented the Campeones Award in appreciation for his continued support and dedication to the Hispanic Leadership Program.

September 22, 2011: Dr. Kazmir was elected to serve in the official position of Treasurer and Chair of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority’s Finance Committee.

December 6, 2011: Dr. Kazmir was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for his outstanding contribution to the Law Enforcement Community at the FBI Newark, NJ Division.

May 17, 2012: Dr. Kazmir was given an award for his support and leadership of the Asian Pacific Community in New Jersey by the Special Agent in Charge in Newark, Michael Ward.

August 2012: Dr. Kazmir was elected unanimously to serve as a member of the Governing Board of the American Jewish Congress (AJC) and the Executive Committee of the AJC.

April 2013: Dr. Kazmir became a member of the board of The Drumthwacket Foundation and was appointed to serve on the Development Committee.

June 2013: Dr. Kazmir was appointed by Rowan University’s Board of Trustees to become a member of the Cooper Medical School Board of Directors.

October 17, 2014: Dr. Kazmir was presented with the Denise Shea Memorial Award by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) at their annual dinner.

November 18,2014: Dr. Kazmir was presented with the “Never Forgotten” Award by the Associate Special Agent in Charge of NY Division for the DEAs Survivor’s Benefit Fund, which was formed to assist the families left behind by our fallen heroes.

March 4, 2015: Dr. Kazmir finished his term on the Drumthwacket Foundation Development Committee Board.

May 4, 2015: Dr. Kazmir opened Direct Meds of Kentucky, which is partnering with the local clinic in the Mt. Sterling area.

October 26, 2015: Dr. Kazmir opened Direct Meds of Camden, which is located in the lobby of Cooper Medical Center located in Camden, NJ.

December 1, 2015: Dr. Kazmir was appointed on the board of the American Council for World Jewry. The Council’s central mission is to articulate the concerns of Jewish communities internationally by building bridges to the United States Congress and Executive Branch, and to important political figures in other countries.

January 1, 2016: Dr. Kazmir finished his term on the Cooper Medical School Board of Directors.

May 24, 2016: Dr. Kazmir was honored by Chabad of Greater Somerset, Hunterdon, and Union Counties. He was presented this honor for his unflagging dedication to the welfare of the Jewish Community, and for his tireless work to help people of all faiths across the Globe. Dr. Kazmir also received a Senate Resolution from State Senator Joseph Kyrillos (R-NJ 13th District), as well as a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-TX 27th District).

June 2016: Dr. Kazmir was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Finance Authority Board.

June 2016: Dr. Kazmir was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the American Jewish Congress Board.

September 15, 2016: Dr. Kazmir was recognized by Broadway House for Continuing Care for his continued support of the facility. Broadway House is NJ's only specialized care facility for people living with HIV/AIDS and has been providing comprehensive healthcare services to this population for over 20 years in Newark, NJ. Dr. Kazmir was honored by the facility for his generous donation of a Yamaha Baby Grand Player Piano with a plaque located in the lobby that expresses Broadway House's deepest appreciation for the gift.

October 7, 2016: Dr. Kazmir was recognized by the New Jersey State Troopers Coalition during their awards luncheon for his civic and health care initiatives that support law enforcement and the community it serves, and was given the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award by the Coalition's Executive Director James Dobak.

November 14-18, 2016: As Vice Chairman of the American Jewish Congress, Dr. Kazmir lead a delegation, with Chairman Jack Rosen and Board Members for their 31st Annual Mayor’s Conference in Israel. Mayors from around the world joined the AJ Congress for a week of sightseeing in Israel, and meetings with high ranking members of the Israeli Government including the Prime Minister, the Mayor of Jerusalem, the Mayor of Tel Aviv, and many other Mayors from the country.

January 6, 2017: Dr. Kazmir was appointed on the Board of Trustees of New York Medical College, a member of the Touro College and University System by the President of the Board of NYMC, Dr. Alan Kadish. Dr. Kazmir will not only participate at the Board level, he will also serve on a working committee, engaged in overall strategy, policy and management of the College.

June 19, 2017: Dr. Kazmir was reappointed to serve on the New Jersey HealthCare Facilities Financing Authority as Vice Chairman by the New Jersey State Senate and Governor Chris Christie.

Many of these Mayors will become leaders of their prospective countries.

June 25, 2019 - Appointed Goodwill Ambassador of the Bektashi Community by Baba Mondi, leader of the Bektashi Community at the Headquarters in Albania.

June 2019 - Dr. Kazmir was the recipient of the 2019 Career Unification Contribution Award for the promotion of peace and unification on the Korean peninsula in the 19th National Assembly of Korea.

June 7, 2019 - Dr. Kazmir was appointed the United States local honorary President of the Korean Information Association.

June 7, 2019- Dr. Kazmir received an honorary doctorate degree in political science from The Dankook University in Seoul, South Korea.

July, 2020 – Dr. Kazmir nominated as a Delegate-At-Large for the 2020 RNC.

September 9, 2020- Dr. Kazmir’s White House appointment was confirmed joining as a representative to the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (PACCARB).  

December 30, 2020 - The US President appoints Dr. Kazmir as a Council Member to the National Council on Disability.
